  • NATIONAL FIRE DEPT. DAY

may 10th was national fire dept. day and phoebe was looking forward to a pancake breakfast at the culver city fire dept. and then an afternoon hot dog lunch at the beverly hills fire dept. both were a huge turnout with culver city putting on a spectacular car show and beverly hills giving fire truck rides and putting a car fire out for the crowd.

this was the first time i can remember they didn't let the kids take target practice with the fire hoses due to the current drought in calif.

phoebe is approaching 4 years old and is fascinated by all the big fire trucks and equipment.

culver city had a chrome fire pole, while beverly hills had a brass "stripper pole" phoebe was a natural, taking after her e.r. uncle.

they showed the jaws of life cutting off the door before setting the car on fire, then to put it out. and for all you old antique buffs, how about this gorgeously restored fire engine from the bhfd.

thanks to all the firefighters across the nation and a big thanks to the city of culver city and beverly hills for putting on a great show and great eats.

I thought you would get a kick out of the old restored fire truck. A work of art back then and now.
Might need to put it in service this week. It's going to be upper 90s and windy. Drought has dried out the hills.

that is quite a old truck, never seen any thing quite like that, I have seen many old engines but non exactly like that,
our department, has a old truck that is similar but not as old, they use it in parades, and such,
