    Hi all,

I have found this tool among a lot of old stuff of my uncle. I cannot figure out what this tool's name is and what the hell it can be used for...

Can some of the experts here help me ? I am not even sure sure it is used for plumbing...

    Thanks in advance !

not sure if any of the old timers go back that far it looks real old.

just looking at it, it appears to be an "adjustable open end wrench" i.e. crecent wrench. not sure the purpose of the end notch on the jaw?

    anyone else from belgium?

Not sure if this applies but when the Model T ford's 1st came out they had a wrench in the issued toolbox that looked very similar to what you have. That's why they're called Ford wrenches. Maybe there was a Belgium carmaker that did the same? Google the name and see what pops up.

                        Akela

Towards the end of the month I'll be going to where there will be several antique tool collectors (USA) and I'll try asking them if they have any good ideas. Looking at the stationary jaw tells me that it was designed for a special use. No way would a tool company do that much engineering and machining on a regular Monkey Wrench. The more I look over the pictures, the more I think you may well have a tool where very few of them were ever made. It just might bring some big $$$ if posted on eBay, but maybe you really want to keep it. If I get any good info, I'll post it but I'm stumped as to what it was really intended to be used for.

If, on my side, I find an answer, I will get back to you.
