  • Customer wants a bidet

Is it possible to install a bidet easily in an upstairs bath within 2' of an existing toilet? Is there an issue with tying into the existing 4" waste pipe as far as venting and so forth? I realize I need to have hot and cold supply lines, but that's no problem. I'm just not certain as to the vent pipe requirements. I assume the bidet requires a 2" waste pipe, but I'm not sure if I can use the existing toilet vent that would be 48" from the 2" trap.
    What do you guys say?

I mentioned it, but she likes a bidet like they had back home (Poland).

Forget about a bidet, go with a Toto washlet. We have the S300.
After using one of these, it is hard not to have one. It really saves on toilet paper too

With this seat, you don't have to move over to the bidet located 3 feet away while dripping crap all over the place .

Click--> http://www.washlet.com/ Turn your sound up.

I've installed about a hundred of these. Very popular here in Hawaii, its getting to the point where the electricians allow for an additional outlet behind the toilet in their bids.

Your bidet is only 2' from your water closet so all you need is a 1 1/2" waste line.

Yeah,I did not specify did I.
Now I'm going to have to take my agression out on the next guy who runs a 3" trap arm to a toilet more than 6' (including the riser to the flange)

You almost had me until you used the aggression word. Then I knew there would be a smiley face in there somewhere.

I've spent the last week laying out a combination waste and vent system. Over size the drain and trap, and forget the trap arm. Of course, for those in the know, it's not that simple requirement wise.
