  • Best thread sealer to use

Hello, Can someone tell me which type of thread sealer would be best to use on 3/4 NPT fitting? It will be inside a wall for a new shower valve.
    Thanks

3/4" npt on a shower mixing valve? I've usually seen 1/2". I recommend, if possible, to solder the pipe to the valve. You can do this with Delta's. But to answer your original question-I use oatey teflon paste. Teflon tape also works well.
    Buy cheap, buy twice.

I use KeyTite for gas and fittings, and I use megalock for my plastic fittings.

I use Oatey Great White. Mega Lock is easier to clean up.

i've had good luck with "ridgid" white teflon based dope. good for plastic too.

home depot sells the white and the grey, non teflon.

          use the white with teflon.

If you are going to screw in a 3/4" copper C X MIP fitting and then solder too it, I would use teflon tape and Hercules Megaloc.

If you are going to screw in a threaded pipe nipple, I would use teflon tape & Pro Dope.

I've been looking for the Ridgid pipe dope since I used it a couple of years ago.It applies smooth,in contrast to other teflon type pipe dopes.Been looking to see if the local HD still stocked it,nothing yet.

my guys use Rectorseal T+2 and/or teflon tape.

I agree with what the other poster said about 3/4", must be one hell of a shower valve??

                Regards,
