      Just checked the IFGC(thanks Mark) and it says bushings are prohibited in concealed locations but not that they're prohibited from all gas piping installation. A crawl space doesn't qualify as a concealed space.

        i say each state and township make up there own rules because thats what they want and there is nothing we can do to change it .
        i did a natural gas line in Maryland and they say you have to run the gas line in the building and then poke up through the roof at the unit and you have to put the drip leg inside not out side . this is so if it gets moisture in it it wont freeze .well we put them out side up here and never had a problem with that .

        we cant use st90 but the gas co can

          Inspector told me that there isn't enough steel there have a male thread without risking cracking the fitting. strange thing is, CGA approved appliances (power vented hwt's) come with a street elbow spun into the gas valve.
