  • water leaking up under toilet

i just cant understand why water comes up from under my toilet
when there is a clog in the main drain line in my house. the only time
water comes up from the floor around my toilet is when the main line is
backed up. i dont know what to do to fix the problem. i am on a slab
foundation so i am not worried about wood rot. but i know there is a
problem and i want to fix it. the toilet in question is the last plumbing
fixture along the line. but why does it only leak when the line backs up any help would be helpful as i just cant figure it out and am not a plumber.

Sounds to me like you have a blown out wax, the toilet needs to be re-set and caulked back down, re-set meaning new wax and bolts.

If you have a tile floor, chances are the flage is to low and the person installing the toilet had to doublwe wax, very bad idea.

pull the toilet, if it takes more then one jumbo wax, raise the flange, either way it needs a new wax ring.

Toilet needs to be pulled and reset. After making sure the water closet and wax is seated properly to a flange that is set high enough like Robert posted, flush 3-6 times to check for leaks before necessary caulking.

If you're pulling the toilet might as well let a drain guy snake the line to prevent any further incidents. There might be a root or other obstruction outside. JMHO.

Sounds to me ,aside from the back up issue, you need a clean out installed with a popper.
