  • pump for water heater pan

I have a water heater in a finished basement that is 8 feet below the ground level. Is there a water sensing mini pump I can put in the pan and run pvc pipe to take away the water if the heater where to leak?
    Thanks

There is. Can't remember where I've seen it. I know that's no help. But I favor a water sensing solenoid in that situation. You can find them that plug into 110v with a battery backup. Don't use a wags valve.

condensate pump used for high efficient furnace is also an option, but the water sensing solenoid is good too

The pump that I am asking about I have never seen or installed, but it is what the Insurance company is asking for now prior to paying the claim, maybe this is unreasonable I don't know any opinions?
