Color me stupid. I can,t remember if the toilet flange rests on the finish floor or sets flush with it.

      Re: Setting a Toilet

The bottom of the toilet flange should be flush with the finished floor. This should cause the top of the toilet flange to be ~1/4" above the floor. If it is not this way I would recomment using the 1/4" flange extenders along with silicone, or reinstalling the flange at the proper height. I would not use two wax rings, or the jumbo size wax rings. But that is just the way I would do. Feel free to do whatever you want.

"Nearer My God to Thee." That was the last hymn she sang before she died of her burns on the deck of the luxury liner Roraima in the spring of 1902 when the volcano Pelee' erupted. 30,000 inhabitants of St. Pierre, Martinique were killed in the explosion.

I've been dealing with a company lately which offers a flange extension which is IAPMO Certified to NSF Standards.
