  • The 'What Is It Game'.

    Hopefully this wasn't too easy.

One hint, no it's not a birch tree locater.

I just learned what it is and does today myself.

He's a young single guy, I'm sure his forearms don't need anymore of a workout.

Well, knowing as I do that the River Birch is among the tallest native trees in MARYLAND, I thought it might be a RIVER BIRCH SAP TAPPER.

it's a"capital internal" pipe cutter. they were made for either cast iron or copper in 3'' or 4''.

and yes i own both the 3'' and 4'' cast iron cutters

use wd40 while cutting and it will make life easier.

a good way to build up the forearms

Re: The 'What Is It Game'.

I recently purchased one of those (4") for one of my guys to try out. It came back to the shop the next day. Looks like it would work well, but I was told it was too slow for them.

                        Regards,

Wrench Spinner got it first, but Rick even knew the same manufacturer as this one. No Bill, I haven't used it, I tried too today, but it was rusted shut.

If it's in good condition, it's one of those tools that's better tan nothing. But just.

                              Aaron

Get some Gibbs or Kroil, PB Blaster or as a last resort WD40 and give it a good soaking. Them see if you can free it up. A lots of light hammer taps all over helps free things like this too. Remember it's the fast little taps that work and not hard bashings, but I'm sure you know all about that.
