i was on another forum, where a ''master plumber'' my azz. told a homeowner to install a aiv , on a utility sink. next to a water heater.
what the hell is this, its crazy, we legislated in texas not to let these valves be legal in the plumbing code. but lost to bigger bucks.
now i am being told that plumbers. are using these things. as part of there ever day arsonal of stuff. any comments are welcome

Check out the thread "Basement Plumbing Issues" from last week. Here in Michigan they are being used everywhere. So sorry.

        Re: a.i.v vents

i went to the basement thread mentioned here earlier. i have not stoped and thought of the diy'er pumping for info, this had not occured to me.
i was caught up in answering questions.not releasing that i was doing myself a diservice. food for thought. and the aiv/studor vents
i still think your stupid for using them.the reason a diy'er wants to use them, is he doesn't have a drill big enough to drill a hole, or a 2 9/16 bit
        and lazy.

I still think that was a bit extreme. Must have been a final straw.
