    Which sump pump is better? One with verticle floater switch or One with the Diaphragmatic switch.

    Don't have any failure rates to tell you which would last longer. The vertical ones are simpler for alot of people. Preset, put in the pit. The mercury switch ones allow you better control of drawdown cycling.

    EDIT: I don't think I'm familiar with the term "diaphragmatic". If that's what's on the Ridgid pumps, then I would say they are less reliable.

    Check back. More experience might chime in later.

          Diaphram or 'pressure' switches on sump pumps are junk. They last a year or two and then you find yourself replacing them with floats.
          sigpic3:00, I mean 5:00, and work is done. Time to crack a cold one.
