    Interesting, Clip!
    When I shower, never bathe, I keep the bathtub drain closed.
    Makes it warmer in the enclosure and soapy water is good for soaking my feet.
    Then open drain as I start final shampoo/rinse.

    On cold winter nights, I would retain the water in the bathtub. (Need only rinse each calf and foot with shower hose sprayer as I step out.)
    Open the tub drain next morning.

    I would rather wrap a copper coil around the water heater flue where so much heat is lost, not only during firing, but also the constant convective loss.
