  • Main water line

I have a customer that her water line damaged (galvanized 45 years) For personal reason I didn't do the replacement and somebody installed, according to her, new 80 PVC 1" with the last 10' on copper. I always use soft copper or now PEX.

I don't feel comfortable with PVC for the main line, but I don't want to tell her that.

    Any input?

Back when I was a Az. resident. PVC 40 with the copper leader. What concern would you have ?

Old fashioned, like galvanized, copper, hum .. now PEX. Saw twice PVC cracked, just few months ago saw one cracked across street. I know... bad workmanship!

Seen no problems with thicker walled SCH.40 backfilled/connected correctly.
