  • Garage floor drains iN S.F.

Many old S.F. homes[ 1930s] have garages under the 2nd floor. All have floor drains. WHY ?
Back East garage slabs are pitched to drain to apron. We had snow so melt off ran to the outside. removing whole 1 st. floor slab next week, will ask inspector If I can eliminate
new drain. Problem is unlike the old one new one needs trap primer and vent. It's a row house. Will have to open 2nd floor L.R. wall for vent! P.S. 34 degrees this morn!
Thanks' Tool. oh yea some g.cs. don't know it all. BEAT YA
I can build anything You want , if you draw a picture of it , on the back of a big enough check .

tool, are you sure that the drain is piped to the sanitary system?

could it be just a dry well?

today it would require a clarifier to protect from oil and gas.

Good point Rick.I will talk with one of the plumb. insp. tomorrow morn. The slab grade is higher than the sidewalk and street. City amendments have all down leaders , outside area drains, floor drains , plumbed into the 4" home lateral [ side sewer ] . Because of new slab fall to outside I'm hoping He'll let Me eliminate it. Thank's Tool
