  • Indirect Water Heater

I have a hot-water Utica boiler with 50,000 BTUH input. I heat two rooms with it with less than 30,000 BTUH requirement/capacity using baseboard radiators. I want to add an indirect hot water heater (WMcL Gold plus 60). Do I have enough heating capacity if I put a priority for the hot water heater?

Gold Plus 60 coupled with a 50,000 btu boiler with domestic priority:

Assuming a 50 degree inlet temperature and 200 degree boiler temp. you will get 135 gallons of 115 degree water the first hour

That's a LOT of hot water. Do you really need that much?

With the same boiler you will get 120 gallons with a Gold Plus 30

I think I would go with a Super Stor SS40 less money.
