  • repeated main line stoppage problems

I am wondering what the best thing for me to do. I have lived in my housefor 6 years and have had at least one main line stoppage at least twice a year. It has already happened twice in 2009 and it is only March. I call the plumber and they can never find anything wrong. Not sure what the cause is but would sure like to find out what it is so I don't have to deal with this mess and get it fixed once and for all.

Please let me know what the best solution is. The stoppage usally begins in one or both toilets and then comes up in both bath tubs and leaks from under both toilets.

    Help me please!

Its usually one of two things.

    (1) Flushing foreign objects in the commode.

Meaning anything other than toilet paper and human waste, such as, tampons, baby wipes, diapers, grease, etc, etc, etc.

    Solution: Stop flushing foreign objects.

    or

    (2) Something is wrong with the pipe.

Sag, disjoint, root intrusion, cracks, etc. In other words broken pipe.

Solution: Cable and/or water jet cleaning, followed by video pipe inspection and location to verify condition of the pipe. Then dig up and repair broken pipe if a break is found.

    or it could be both.

#1 Do you have a septic system or sewer?

#2 has the plumber camera'd the line for you yet?
If he hasnt camera'd the line becuase he doenst have one, which is ok... ask if he can recommend someone who can because that is pretty much your next step

if nothing ever comes back on the cable, you need to camera the line.

there could be a foreign object in the line being left behind that is causing waste and paper to catch on.

the camera will also find poorly graded pipe, bad joints, and really answer the questions of why it stopped up.

I know, it doesnt make sense, its french.

If people pronounced it (HEE-BERT) I would understand, but they add an R to it and say (HER-BERT)

                When its actually (A-BEAR).

I'm trying to teach the world, although it would be easier to change the spelling to Abear.

Of course people would then pronounce Abear (ABBIE-ARE).

Its only a problem when I leave Louisiana, because it's a common name here. We take up a couple pages in the white pages.

Cool, thats better than Herbert I think.

I met a drill sergeant when I was in the army named Hiebert pronounced HI-BEAR

Cajuns came from Canada so it makes sense there would be some Heberts in Canada.

I knew I would mess up this history so I copied it from another site.

"The Acadians were French settlers of eastern Canada who were exiled from their land in the 1750s. The Cajuns are their descendants who settled in Louisiana. Today, thousands of Acadian-Cajun descendants cherish their rich legacy of history, culture, & genealogy."

make sure your plumber inspects your waste vents, poorly vented waste systems causes improper drainage, i have found lots of roofing materials, birds nest, rags and so on
