  • Sink Trap and vent

Just looking at a new kitchen install and had an odd question. Why can't the trap be placed under the kitchen in the basement below? From the disposal stub to back wall with a 90 dropping it down through the cabinet floor to the trap and vent below. Have never seen or done it that way but I can not see why not so I must be missing something! It would be identical to a tub install.

Seems it allows a lot more space under the sink making Mom happier and that is the goal.

Make mom happy by being a good son that installs correct plumbing.Your idea has not been seen because it is wrong.

because it's unsanitary your tail piece can only be 24" to trap. it will siphon trap seal. what about trap access and a cleanout other than that its plain out wrong
