The FVIR system involving the ECO can be pretty finicky from what I've seen. Also ran into a couple of power vents that I got back in operation that I don't know what the heck I did except unplug it and clean everything. No callbacks though.
weird stuff like water leaking out of the sealed gasket on a brand new heater then stopped the next day when i returned i believe it was a bradford and white defender...?? other than that i dont don't do that many heater installs but i do like the rheems
On the subject of which brands to use most service plumbers use the water heater most available to them in their area. Here its A.O. Smith and Bradford White. I had the best luck with the Bradford Whites and they are made in USA. The A.O. Smiths have stared leaking in as little as two weeks and the happen to be made in Mexico (go figure). The cost between the two is about the same.
