  • The right way to bend the end of a innercore cable

Hello guys. I'm completly new in all this of drain cleaning.
I bought a machine with a inner core cable, but I don't know how to bend it , so that it can pass the tight corners. I tried to bend it just with my hands but it won't stay that way. Please Help.

What size cable? It should have a drop head or spring head for a 3/8 cable.

      Try some forearm exercises.

if all else fails put the cable in a hole in some thing solid, (bumper of truck, or a pipe in a vise, or similar) and put a pipe wrench on sideways and bend, or a deep "c" shaped item that you can concentrate the bend and hold the cable, do not over do it,

your better off to try a few times to get the angle you want in the bend than to try to do it all at once and over bend it,

innercore cable is always a tight/ stiffer cable.

depending on the machine and cable size, you might try a trap leader or a different type cutter.

usually a bulb head will navigate the turns or an auger end will too.

what size cable and machine and pipe are you trying to use this on.

the only cables i bend are my hand gun small drain cables. my sectionals don't need a leader or a bend

the 3/8'' can be bent if you don't plan on using cutters.

usually you wait til you break off then end coupler.

i would never bend the 5/8'' as it should be used with cutters.

the cable is easily bent with either chucking the end into a vice and applying enough pressure to kink it.

or you could slide a couple pices of pipe over the ends and use them to bend the cable where the 2 pipes meet.

truthfully with the proper cutters or a trap leader, there's no reason to bend a sewer cable.

yes 1/4'' and 5/16''. but not the larger ones.
