    Are there any plumbing codes or building codes pertaining to what types of pipes can be used for underground irrigation

        Schedule 40 from the tie in (or water meter) to the r.p.device. Class 200 is of from there to the valves and heads. Class 200 is preferred because of the larger inside diameter. The main tie in must be done directly in front of the house water meter.
        To answer your question more directly, no. After you leave the r.p. all bets are off. There are industry standards though.
