  • K-750 Power Snake Power Issue

I am a newbie and thought I would try this board for help. I bought a Rigid Power Snake Model 750 through a storage auction and I can't get the motor to power on. I am getting power that is evident through the light on the box on the extension cord to the unit. When I move the switch forward and reverse, nothing happens. Could it be the switch? Thanks for any help I can get. Jon

When you have the switch in the forward or reverse position are you stepping on the foot switch? Look at the picture you see a black bulb type thing on the ground that is the foot switch. If you are stepping on the foot switch you should hear a click noise from where the air hose attach to the machine, if not then you either have a hole in the bulb or hose. If the hose and bulb are in good shape then its the actual switch on the inside of the machine. If that checks out OK, then it could be some other electrical component that failed including the motor itself.

I had no idea the unit had a foot switch. When I bought the unit there wasn't a foot switch--only the power cord. Any suggestions on what I could do now? Where does the foot switch hook into on the unit? Thanks for the help, Jon

its a foot pedal, shown in the picture to the left of the machine on the floor. Its an air switch, if it did not come with one you can order it from a plumbing supply co, its not a big deal....good luck

manual for it, if your asking those type of questions, my guess is you do not have manual for it, http://www.ridgid.com/CatalogDocs/K-750manual.pdf
              simple wiring diagrams, in manual,

              Ridgid page on it, http://www.ridgid.com/Tools/K750-Drum-Machine

              parts manual http://www.ridgid.com/CatalogDocs/k750.pdf

here is a promotional video for the K7500 (similar machine in working, the 750 is not as top of the line)

I like the 750 over the 7500. If they just tweaked the 750 a little bit, like given it an inner drum and maybe a 1:" wider stance it would of been a great machine.
