  • Gerber toilet is noisy when filling

One of my gerber toilets is noisy when it fills. It will get noisy and then sometimes quiet down to a normal sound.

It has the Hoover R line ballcock and I installed a new diaphram about a year ago. Before I tear into it, I thought I'd post to see if the symtom I described sounds familiar to anyone. Thanks!

....if it were me and the valve would fit, i'd change out to a fluidmaster 400-a and be done with it.

fluidmaster 400a $7. and your problem goes away.

toilets still have hoover r line ballcocks

havn't come accross one in years.

also verify your angle stop is properly open. sometimes just throttling down the stop or adjusting the limit stop on the ballcock will quiet down the noise.

me, i would dump the old ballcock and put in what 90% of new toilets come with. a fluidmaster 400a.

I would get one of those bathroom radios and just jam to some tunes
