  • Water Pressure Test

We have recently taken over a new house in Italy and there appears to be a water leak and we asked for a pressure test to be carried out. This the plumber did and recorded a loss of 25% pressure over a 5 hour period, going from 10 bar (145psi) down to 7.5 bar (110psi).

The plumber claims this is within acceptable tolerances, but it seems very high to me.

    Thoughts/opinions please

        toolaholic,

The system was put under an artificially sealed pressure test and the above loss recorded, but with normal pressure of 60psi and the system closed off it went down to 45psi. Still showing a 25% loss

were all the fixtures turned off or capped off. such as toilet ballcocks?

is the pipe running underground/ slab?

was the test performed with water or air?

if it's air, it's a larger leak than with water.

remember that air compresses and water is a hydraulic.

it takes very little water loss to drop the pressure.

          what material is the piping?

          how much is underground?

          can you isolate the underground?

do you need me to go there and help you out
