  • Which toilet auger

I am not currently having any clogging problems, but, I am thinking of getting a toilet auger to keep around the house. I see that augers generally seem to come in 3' and 6' lengths and have down head or bulb head ends. Which length would be considered most useful for a homeowner? Also, is the down head or the bulb head most useful? Thank you.

For a home owner i would recomend the Ridgid K-3 auger withthe bulb. Avoid the drop head auger, in untrained hands you can bust out the trap.

Don't under estimate the value of a good plunger.
      Particularly, the "grapefruit" head type.
Soft stoppages will probably constitute most of
your toilet problems and are easily handled with
a plunger. Why buy something you may never
      need?

big jim, you put a smile on my face

unless the kids dropped a toy down the toilet that's wedged, a plunger will do the job without scratching the toilet.

as jim said, a grapefruit plunger will do the job perfectly.

you'r in calif. go to orchard/ osh, get the black rubber / grapefruit size plunger with the yellow handle for $9.00 and you can thank us later.

no. but that is the one he tells Adam, Ben and Mark to get so he can go to there houses when they get a clog, plunge it with his "special" plunger and get free lunch!
the only dumb question is the one that is not asked!

the grapefruit plunger is the size of a round grapefruit/ small cantaloupe
