        believe it or not, getting a cable out of a line that's either snapped or disconnected is not as difficult as it sounds

        if the cable snapped while into a nasty root stoppage, then that could get tricky as you still have a stoppage to fight.

        but a loose cable sitting in a line is fairly easy to grab. if you have a comby or wye in the line, make sure you grab the end of the cable. too far from the end can be a challenge with a wye or comby. one end can go 1 way and the other end the other way

        of course, a camera is always the safest way to help grab a cable.

        now grabbing a broken pipe bursting chain or cable is not fun. unfortunately i have experience in that too
