EDIT: I rethunk it and have to say that it's a tie for me between Freddie Mercury and Alice Cooper. Both really perform.

Get the video of Queen at Wembley and you'll see how good Freddie was and you can see Alice Cooper still. It's a great show even if you don't know one song by him.

Since I'm not a plumber, my tastes might be less "orthodox".

              Stevie Ray Vaughn
              Burt Cummings (The Guess Who)
              Mark Knopfler (Dire Straights)
              George Thorogood
              Jimi Hendrix
              Jim Morrison
John Fogarty (in CCR, but not as a soloist)

Alice Cooper (Read it and weep Marilyn Manson)
Ozzy was amazing while he was still 'alive'
David Lee Roth In 1980/81 VH were kings of the arena rock game.
                GG Allen and
Phil Anselmo were great in that 'off the meds again' category.
Paul Stanley High energy, back in the day.Saw Them recently.
I would gladly trade my Kiss tix for Cooper any day!(Ok. Not '77!)
                Angelo Moore from Fishbone
Mike Patton Faith No More/Mr Bungle. Amazing pipes.Thrown off GNR tour for ripping Axel.

There used to be a band with this amazing singer and frontman, the band was Life Sex and Death,The singer was frequently tossed from clubs during soundcheck
because the staff usually mistook him for a crazy homeless guy!

the best was Freddy Mercury. Daltrey was way up there.

                          Oh yeah good pick!

Another HUGE favorite of mine: Frank Marino of Mahogany Rush, my favorite guitarist and frontman.

I have a question for all of you that posted on this thread. Who are these guys you are listing. I may have heard of maybe three of them. If their name doesn't start with Kenny, George, Tim, Trace, Alan, Billy, Rodney,Toby, Tracy, Gary or Garth. I don't listen to it!

Classic Rock Dan. Listen to KGON or The Brew once in a while! I grew up on (now) classic rock.
