  • American Standard 4 flush tower

I am having problems with the flush valve not sealing at the flush tower.

Problem is intermittent and aggravating because it leaks fill water into the toilet through the "flapper". It is not really a flapper but a 4" seal at the top of the tower. I've heard am stan had problems. This toilet is 2 years old and surely the 4" seal should not be worn out.

Is a "fix" available or should I just replace the seal with a new one.

    Thanks in advance.

Thx for the movie. However I presently have the accelerator flush valve.

      Anything else to try?

try running your finger over the seal and flush valve surface to clean any slime or debris. also take a good look at the seal and look for a wear pattern on the seal. you should be able to spot an area of leakage if it's not seating properly.

          Thanks Plumber Rick.
Wiped it off and seems to seal properly.
I'll keep a check, that was too simple.

          Many thx, CBJ

Has anyone had any problems with the new accelerator retrofit flush valve? I read one online review that said to just replace the toilet.
