        nice video. makes it easy to understand your installation and issue.

        the m72 is a cheap plastic pump and has a total head shut off at 18'.

        the problem you have is that last 1' rise causing the entire system to stay full of water. when yo add up the total head and friction with the fittings and check valve, plus the wear on the pump and impeller, you're at the limit of the pump. the m53,m57 is a cast iron design and runs around $150 retail. these pumps are the most popular we use out here for basements with fairly clean water.

        although the pump curves are pretty close, the cast iron body doesn't wear and the tolerances can be kept much tighter.

          thanks for the advice Rick. After weeks of pondering this problem it is finally solved but simply installing a bigger pump. Sorry I didn't get the zoeller it's a ridgid. But on the bright side I now have a back up for when the Ridgid fails. ha!
