  • Pressure washer piping

    im on a job where im piping out a 1500 lb pressure washer to 6 locations and tying into existing copper pipe [ thats what they want ]
    we are running sec40 black pipe and we are welding it

    what would you do
    weld the pipe
    thread the pipe
    or use something different

        Are you using copper pipe for 1500 PSI? How are you joining the copper or the steel? "standard" steel threaded fittings I don't believe are rated for that, neither is soldered copper. You can braze the copper, but then the pipe takes on the pressure rating of "annealed"....well under 1000 PSI.

          Correctly-rated-threaded galvanized and properly rated fittings.

          Welded stainless.... Maybe.

          No black pipe.

          Double check pressure ratings, temperatures, and waivers for the job.

            I remember doing some hospital work and the fitters were running a high pressure soap line 1'' black pipe. everything was welded


            the fitting are out there. I don't know that you call them.

              Are you doing this with socket weld fittings ?

              just weld a nipple in to a coupling.


              if you are doing this butt weld

              maybe a thread o lets

                we use but welding and use the same for the fittings
