That shopping center south on Barrington is pretty much empty now,the little hot dog stand out front is gone,it changed hands about once a year for a while. The old Dominicks store is now a super Menards.I coached baseball in Hanover Pk.at the fields on Barrington and Sycamore for 17 years, the town is changing, lot's of hispanic's in the area where the streets are named after trees, most of the shooting's and stabbing's were gang related.I'm not far away from there now just up the road in Schaumburg.

Now if you are really from Chicago you should know Son of Svengoolie... Berwyen!?!?! (Rich Koz)
                http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xevg0...eature=related

The original Svengoolie (Jerry G Bishop) was before my time.

Then Jerry G Bishop gave Rich Koz permsion to drop the Son of and just call it Svengoolie , so he is back on the air again.

                  Re: Chicago Pizza

I'm old enough to remember the original and young enough to have been terrified watching the movie.

I had the privilege of painting the back of the seats each year in Wrigley field so my dad could spray the fronts
We had to change in the old locker room were Ernie Banks hung out it was cool

                              Re: Chicago Pizza

Been to Chicago many times and my brother-in-law was born and raised in Chi-Town, and I have to say..I'm not a fan of Chicago Pizza.

I was soooo excited to try it...but it's just too different for me.

Philly - Jersey - and New York are some of the best Pizza's in the Country IMO.

Best Pizza I ever had in my life was in Amsterdam. (no lie) I even had a few customers who said the same thing.
