  • Mound system, Sewage Pump Issue!!!! please help

Hi guys, I'm new.. this is my first post..
My high water alarm went off in the house.. I went outside, dug down 3 feet to find the septic pump tank chamber, popped the lid and it was FULL to the RIM with water. I sumped it down to look at what was going on.. I have two float.. First float, first from top is the alarm.. second float must be the on off switch... Sewage pump only HUMS... i pulled it out.. it looks like a cheapo... plastic and small.. I washed it off.. dont look like i have any access to the impeller.. I put it in a bucket of water.. turned back on breaker and it only hums... Now.. no matter if the float is up or down it still hums... You'd think it would stop humming if the float is saying water it low enough, shut off... So what could my problem be? pump seems shots, but what about the float?

        Not a plumber:

After getting the new pump, hook it up and check the float switch. If it is bad, it probably is what burned up your old pump as it would never turn off.
