  • Make garage utility sink a urinal?

Because much of my life ispent in the garage, I installed a utility sink illegally in the garage.
Bought at a garage sale - typical building supply four-leg square plastic sink with stoppered drain.

Are there any kind of little spray nozzels which I can install through the four sink walls along the top to wash the walls down?

Not only to flush urine but also black chimney soot and oily, greasy soap slop which gets on the sink walls when washing my hands and arms and face.

Also, is there a valve I could turn on which opens for 15 seconds to spray down the walls and then automatically closes?

    Just an idea.

Or should I install a kitchen sink faucet with hose hand sprayer which I installed in the laundry room utility sink?
But I do use thexistingarden hose-threaded utility faucet spout to attach a garden hose to wash the vehicles with slightly warmed water.

    Thank you.

    Robert

PS: Regarding connection: From stops Teed into the copper supply lines to the laundryroom utility sink, the hot and cold flexible supply lines come through the garage firewall to the utility sink. (I sealed the openings with drywall putty.)
If super cold winter days, the stops inside the laundryroom cabinet can be turned off and the flexible supply lines drained.
The 1-1/2 inch sink drain line goes into a 2-inch drain which goes into a horizontal 3-inch line from the second floor. It enters just down stream nexto the 2-inch laundryroom drain line.

I'd take an educated guess - but I'm unqualified.
It ain't just soot, it's paydirt.

I am not a plumber (nor septic specialist)

I do know your own urine can be used in a survival situation to help keep a cut from getting infected. However, washing your hands and face in your urinal may be pushing the envelope a bit. I think keeping a plastic bottle (i.e old bleach container) for collecting urine to be dumped into the toilet later would be preferable. Sticking a transmission fluid funnel in the top makes it easier to hit the spot.

Sorry, no expertise in cleaning soot at the level a chimney sweep gets. As a kid having to work with a coal furnace and cleaning out the chimney occasionally, it meant lye soap in a bathtub to get it off and having to scrub down the tub with a brush when I was done. Don't think either of those is what you want to do.

      Sorry couldn't help

I can't take anything you are working on seriously. Aren't you the guy that wanted to hook a hair dryer or vacuum cleaner to a toilet?

I have a laundry sink in my garage also and I have used it for a urinal in a pinch; (muddy shoes, greasy hands, just got home been holding it for an hour, etc..) In my man cave garage I do what I please. The sink is used for washing hands only and is cleaned often. No, my wife does not know !

If you really want to be the first one on your block to have one of these in your garage

You could make a wash down urinal / sink .. with a 1/2 " pvc frame shaped Just smaller than the top of the sink ..Drill small holes in the pipe angled back to the sides of the sink all the way around... Add a tee for the water inlet.
And look for a self closing valve
                        Make sure to send pics

If you keep the car parked in the garage just pull off the radiator cap and go in there.

You could do what my bro-in-law did.. install a standpipe NEXT to the sink, mount an inverted bleach bottle to it (bottom cut out) and then tee off a 1/4" line from the feed to his faucet. Just put an inline shut off in it and open when needed to flush.
