  • Noisy Circulator

I have replaced a cabinet convector in my two pipe reverse return system with a manifold feeding four small radiant loops. I added a small Taco 003 circulator to the manifold to boost the low temperature pressure going into a termastatic mixing valve. The little circulator has a very big humming sound. It reminds me of a 60 Hz electrical transformer humming.

    Any suggestions?

Is it struggling with the load?
Could the case be humming and be dampened with something?
I'd take an educated guess - but I'm unqualified.
It ain't just soot, it's paydirt.

Have to hear it. Might be normal. Might be bad cartridge.
