Can I cut few feet of the main line?

  • Can I cut few feet of the main line?

    Plan to finish a family room in basement. cannot hide the water heating main line in that area. I am thinking cut off few feet and hide those branch lines. is that ok for my heating system? thanks,

    Removing a wall, I did something very similar.
    No problem.
    Just lengthened the branch lines and their radiators still heat just fine.
    Perhaps an inline valve could be installed to regulate balance if necessary.
    I'd take an educated guess - but I'm unqualified.
