  • Symmons Metering Faucets

Hello I am having a problem with Symmons Scot metering faucets. The place has 10 of them and all of them need various parts replaced. The problem I am having is I use the 3/32 hex to loosen the screw in the handle. First I can't seem to get any of the hex screws out and if I seem to loosen them I cannot get the handle off. I have a faucet handle puller but there is no way to use it on this type of faucet. Any ideas?

Drill the screws out and re-tap with a larger screw....or break the handles off the stems, replace the stems and handles. Plumbers grease is good to use on all metal to metal and threaded connections on faucet trim.

Bummer I see the set screw is in the back of the handle. I would break them off and replace the cartridge and the handle or break them off and then drill them out,tap and fit with a new set screw with grease and grease on the cartridge stem and the handle before its re-installed
