          Re: Leaks in fittings

it looks like the hot is CPVC so your good
if you have to fix that side the glue is different for cpvc and pvc

do not over tighten the pvc to much it will crack

                  Re: Leaks in fittings

HVAC Hawk- yes, I did use CPVC on the hot side and I made sure and used CPVC glue. I used to follow my Dad around when he was working around the house (I was the tool fetcher and hander) and he always explained what he was doing and why, so I knew about the differences in the pipe. I always use cleaner too prior to glue. I also took automotive mechanics (I got put in the wrong program- was supposed to take cosmetology) after high school, and I worked in a maintenance shop once in the parts department. I actually like mechanics, carpentry and things like that. If I'd had a plumber for a dad, I'd probably be one of you guys by now, but Dad was a draftsman fulltime, carpenter-mechanic on the weekends. Thanks for your reply!!!

                    Re: Leaks in fittings

THE REASONYOU DON'T USE PVC INSIDE IS BECAUSE IT GETS VERY VERY

BRITTLE OVER TIME THEN YOU BUMP OR JAR IT AND IT BREAKS APART !

SO IF YOU WANT TO THINK ABOUT WHAT IT WILL BE LIKE HAVING THAT

PVC COLD PIPE BLOWING WATER OUT IN THE ROOM AT FULL PRESSURE

TILL YOU GET HOME AND FIND THE MAIN SHUT OFF VALVE ?

THAT IS WHY PROFESSIONAL PLUMBERS USE CPVC ON BOTH COLD AND

HOT WATER LINES IN SIDE OF THE HOUSE ! !

No. I'm like the Santa Claus of plumbing.

"I see it when it's leaking, I know when it is clogged....." (Santa Claus is coming to town. )

Since we are talking about post counts.....does anyone ever go back and read the posts the posts you make and see how many of them are on subject......or even about plumbing?
