  • Three floor apartment building Heating System.

Funtimes..... I am dealing with a system that is about 25 years old, existing pipes and risers. Replaced most zone valves and installed air vents on top floor recently. Boiler wont hold pressure above 12 PSI 160 F, we have had to cut some pipes in suite to un clog scale and debris backup a few times this winter already and we have proposed a maintenance system for spring. Micron filter / pot feeder. The question is " Is there a need for and addittional Y-Strainer on the 4" pipe above the pump? " Also some symptoms include loud banging, air locks, running water sound in suite. Any ideas pro joes? Would like a few opinions.... Thanks!

the more i thought about this, well your supposedly a maintenance super and you didn't notify the building super. why not are you boys going to fix this yourselves on someones building? exactly what would be the payoff here? it appears to be all liability and no payoff. breid..............

No where near enough info, do you have a pic of your boiler, one pipe or two? auto fill? why isnt it holding pressure, leaks? cirulators and flow checks or zone valves? radiators or baseboard? sounds like time to bring in a pro.
