  • Sump pump power problem

I have a sump pump in my basement. Bought the house a little over 4 years ago and the pump was old then, and this morning it quit working. Got a new one but it didn't power up. The breaker hadn't tripped but there was no power at the outlet. I got power from another outlet so for the time being I'm not getting flooded but what about the sump pump circuit?

Some times you have to exercise the breaker to make sure it didn't trip. The next step would be to have someone qualified check to make sure the breaker isn't bad.

I wonder if it's connected through an older panel, with older breakers? Push-matic, FPE, or Zinsco?
