    when you connect a new cast iron pipe into a hub with donut do you use other method to help seal the joint or the donut itself is good enough?

    The donut is the seal.
    Nothing else needed to seal.
    Test according to local code when finished.

    But, I would have gone with the lead wool option.

      We can only pour lead joints above ground here in IL. Push gaskets are allowed underground only. I have no idea what Boston/MASS require though

        Is PVC or No hub cast iron legal above ground?
