  • Water Softener Mix?

If one had a basic softener tank and Fleck head....

What material would you install in it to re-bed it for softening?

What material would you install to make it remove Iron? Possible?

    Thanks.

depends a lot on just how much iron we are talking about.

    Purolite and gravel under bed.

I can answer your question but I am going to need more info. Standard water softener resin will remove small amounts of Iron, but the trade off is the resin gets Iron Fouled.

What is the PPM of iron and what type of Iron are you talking about?

Is there Chlorine in the water, and what is the PPM of it on the high side, annually?

        What is the water pressure?

What is the daily GPD of estimated water usage?

What Fleck Valve? What is the tank size?

Probably a few more questions but I'm tired. You can PM me and all dial you in if you want.

Water Surgeon asked all the pertinent questions. The only thing I would add is do you have a brine tank or a potassium feeder, or a chlorinator to go with the units? You will need them.
