  • CCTV in 4" Risers

    Hi
Our client is asking to conduct a cctv inspection for 4" risers (black steel) in order to verify if corrosion is present inside the pipes (used for an heat pumps loop). We think that ultrasound to measure remaining wall thickness would give a better idea of the condition and permit to decide if the risers have to be replaced.
    What do you think?
    Thanks

a camera will be able to inspect, but the 90 degree turns are going to be very ruff on the camera pushrod. another issue is that the transmitter will not be able to penetrate the steel pipe with a 512hz. signal, so to locate you'll have to use the total distance and notate tees for a real accurate location.

i've done ductile iron with a camera and had a great picture, it's locating the camera that was not accurate. especially at 6-8' deep.
