  • Propane hot water heater with 20lb propane tank.

I have a propane hot water heater. I'd like my 20lb propane tank to heat the propane hot water tank. Is this possible?

I was going to remove the flared fitting from the hot water heater and buy some connectors at home depot to connect the 20lb tank to the hot water heater.

Is there a line that I can buy to connect a 20lb propane take directly to a propane hot water heater?

    Thx

you need a regulator that screws onto the tank. pretty much a bbq setup.

your residential heater is probably close to a bbq demand too. somewhere around 40,000 btu's.

Why? It will not be cheaper.

Not a good idea to have the BBQ tank in the building,

        use the proper regulator,

the BBQ tank would last about 10 to 12 hours of continuous operation, of the heater, for a 40.000 BTU heater.
