  • What mfg is this faucet and is the connection a snap on?

I am looking to tighten the nut holding the faucet. Not enough clearance for a sink wrench. hoping to find out if the plastic piece is a snap on to remove the tubing and place a adapter onto the nut?

Both Moen and Delta use similar setups. The black plastic clip pulls off. It sits in keyed slots. Then the rubber sprayer tube pulls off. Be careful of the o-ring. If it's a Moen, they supply an install tool for the nut at the base that slides over the entire threaded assembly. The newer Moens use a golden colored aluminum nut, not brass. If you tighten it too much it can split.

If you call Moen they will probably send you a new tool.

I use shower valve wrenches. You can get a set at any hardware store. it all comes apart easily.

Be careful, if that faucet has been there awhile the spray hose connection may not want to reconnect. The safest thing is to request a new one from Moen and a faucet installation tool to tighten things up.
