  • Question for a Plumber

I have a new Price Pfister faucet that I've installed on my kitchen sink. I'm replacing the air vent on the sink top (for the dish washer) with a soap pump. What should I do with the hoses that run into that vent?
    Thank you.

Just connect the two hoses together with a short piece of copper pipe and a couple of clamps. Keep the hose hung just under the counter top so as to avoid possible siphoning of dirty sink wate rback into the dishwasher.

Keep in mind that you might have to change it back if you ever sell the house - home inspectors catch this type of code violation if it applies in your area. (In my area, the looping under the counter top is code approved without the air gap device)
