  • Hot Water Not Working?

So the water dept had turned off some valves two days ago, and screwed up our water. It sputtered a day and a half then someone said to turn all the faucets on
I did that and now have 'unsputtering' water, but now I have no hot water.
    Water Heater is electric

    What could the issue be?

Electric water heater? Burned out element, perhaps?
    More info is always appreciated.

Electric water heater, its about 5 years old. The issue I have is it worked great before they worked on the pipes, seems odd that its not heating up now

It wouldn't be so odd it the tank drained down and fried the element. Call a pro and have him check it out.

Is your heater piped from the top or the sides? Top piping should have prevented the water being siphoned. The cold dip tube has an anti siphon hole in it.

I would have your water company look at it. They might take responsibility for it and reimburse you for the repairs.was there any written notices for the water shut off?

Fried element if no vacuum breaker.

likely just a coincidence that the one problem followed the other. It happens.
