What size water shut off valve? I am planning to install automatic water shutoff valve on the main water line in vacation house. I am not totally sure if the pipes are copper or galvanized but the house (in CA) was build in 1979, so I would guess it is copper. I measured outside diameter of the pipe that was 0.875" (7/8"). I guess this is 3/4 pipe, right? I need help to decide which model of shutoff valve I need. The model I am looking at is "Greenfield Automatic Security Valve Kit, 3/4 In. Pipe", model AVS075. It is available from Amazon. Is this the right size for my pipe? Or should I go with AVS100 model that is described as Greenfield Automatic Security Valve Kit, 1 In. Pipe? I am not sure if the pipe size in the name of the valve model refers to the inside or outside diameter of the pipe. Thanks a lot Maxim
