  • insulating pipes

I have baseboard hot water heat for my house. Its an oil burning boiler. The cellar is not insulated but it stays within 15-20 degrees of the inside temperature in the winter. I think the water in the heating pipes is at 140 degrees. Would it be worth it to install foam insulation designed to be used on hot water pipes? Would there be any reason not to? Can I expect a noticable increase in the efficiency of my heat if I do this?
