    Rick,

I spent pretty much the entire month of July in Laughlin on a project and the Casino I stayed at did not have High-Speed Internet.

Now, why didn't I think of that. I'll have to remember that the next time I'm in the market for a plunger.

p.s those plastic accordian style are fun to look at, but not fun to clean or use
FLASH: I've just hit on a fabulous idea. Replace the plunger handle with a piece of pipe about 24". long, using a sealed connection, of course, then put of those valves that opens with 1/4 turn and an air hose coupling on the end of it. Connect it to my compressor, put it into the opening in the bottom of the bowl, quickly open the valve all the way and let 'er rip! Yeah, that oughta do it.

Seriously, what about those bladders that you attach to a garden hose? They come in various sizes. As the water is turned on, it expands inside the drain or trap, and when it won't expand anymore, the water pressurizes the pipe and forces the clog out. Wouldn't need a very long hose, and an adapter on the bathtub or sink faucet

I wonder if Rick had any dinner and/or got to sleep inside the night he posted this.

al, i hope it hasn't been 4+ months with a plugged toilet

it's been cold here, but not because of the toilet paper comment. she's use to it. claims that i didn't have a sister, so i wouldn't know about the extra wipe

do not try your method of clearing. the "drain king" or bladder ball will blow out your toilet wax seal and be a mess. alos don't try the air compressor. you'll be wearing last nights dinner and be replacing the wax seal too

spend the $9.00 on a good plunger. if that doesn't do it, then buy a 6' closet auger fom general tools, sorry ridgid, yours needs help with the cable

if that doesn't work, call your local plumber or send a plane ticket.

        where are you again?

Best unclogger is to prevent the clog. Hard to type when you're giggling this hard, but here it goes. Split flush technique flush one(or two,I get a lot of fiber)for the initial potential clog, and one for the paperwork.

That's the technique I taught my 2 teenage sons to use...never fails.

heh. I've been using that one for years now since living in a house with the cheapest of the cheap water-saving toilets in it.

              An ounce of prevention...

OH GOD NO! I'd have thrown a couple of M-80s down there by then.

I guess I'll have to break down and buy a plunger from OSH as you suggested. As for the toilet auger, I have one with a 1/4" cable that expands to a "bulb" shape at the end, but it won't go past the bend in the trap.

Beautiful Fontana (aka "Felony Flats"), just down the road from you.

I think the two-stage flush method will be the best method, though.

Normally you can unclog a tolit, with the plunger, And a tolit auger....But there are time when you have to take that tolit off, And run a plumbers snake down.

I can remember yrs ago I had 1 tolit that would keep cloging up about a week after the 1st un clogging.....It ended up being a peice of glass caught In the 3" ABS way down in the basement, So there I had to cut that section of pipe out, And It was a happy flush then on after.

                              Happy flushing

If the toilet is chronically plugging up it's time to tear it out and get you a Toto. You can flush a toy poodle down a Toto
