  • Mansfield model 211 flush valve difficult to opreate

The Mansfield model 211 flush valve in my mother-in-law's toilet is almost impossible to operate. You have to practically climb up on the tank and jump on the handle to get it to open.

Will replacing the seal at the bottom of the valve fix this?

    Any suggestions?

    TIA,

usually that's the problem. the rubber seal starts to turn into "goo" and becomes sticky. the seal is very inexpensive and you're only out $3.00 if all else fails.

That's pretty much what I figured. It takes the 630-0030 kit. The BORG has 'em for about $2.00.
