    Re: No Nails

Arthur96;228285]Is no one reading my posts and the PDF i provided? Ridgid is NOT making there own brand of nails for there guns. They made there guns to accept the nails made by other manufacturers like Bostitch porter-cable passload grip-rite.....etc.
I read your post and understand completely. The problem with both HDs I checked was they didn't stock nails with the correct colation angle. It wasn't as if they were sold out of them, they never stocked them. I am aware other outlets will probably have the nails I needed. I thought then and still think it was odd that HD would not stock nails for a nailer they sell.

I took my nailer in and am having it totally rebuilt, whatever that means, not just 'O' rings installed. Should have it back monday morning.

I am still sore from pounding by hand for just those few hours. I didn't realize how out of shape I had become

OH BOY, YOU BET! The days of the two bang 16d are gone. Long gone. Didn't those thumb nail hits hurt? Cheese Louise they were awful, and it seemed to me that they hurt worse in the winter.

As far as I recall Ridgid only makes round head 21-22 degree plastic colated in their framing gun. They make a clip head finish nailer.

I have been using Grip Rite's 33 degree paper colated clip head for framing for a long time and they seem to work pretty well. I get a few jams but all in all I am pretty happy.

My finish nailer is a Porter Cable. I kind of like it but I keep thinking there might be something better. I don't know why.

I had heard good things about them so I tried a Porter Cable pin nailer last summer but the thing kept leaving dents in the trim that were bigger than the heads of my trim nailer nails so I brought it back.

If the gun dosen't take Hitichi plastic colated nails, or Bostitch paper nails don't even think about it.
